Our History

In June of 1991, Lektron began its history as a manufacturer of military electro-mechanical assemblies. The company's basic philosophy centered on delivering prompt service and maintaining quality standards that consistently met and exceeded customer requirements.  In April of 1993, the business incorporated and became Lektron, Inc. The basic business philosophy continued after incorporation, and in March 1994, Lektron, Inc. was awarded Blue Ribbon status by the U.S. Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Out of 40 applicants, Lektron, Inc. was the tenth company selected for this award and demonstrated the best performance, boasting a perfect record of on-time delivery and quality. In 1996, the company expanded its line of services to include metrology equipment kitting for its military customers.  In July 2003, Lektron acquired an 18,000-square-foot machining facility located in Arab, Alabama. This acquisition enabled Lektron, Inc. to more effectively control the quality and delivery of items produced for its customers.  In January 2004, Lektron, Inc. moved into a newly constructed state-of-the-art facility in Hartselle, Alabama, equipped with humidity and ESD control in all manufacturing areas. In 2013, Lektron acquired a 55,000-square-foot building in South Hartselle. We began renovating the building inside and out, and in 2015, relocated the Machining Operations from Arab to this building. This significantly increased productivity between the two operations due to their proximity and provided us with room to grow. In 2016, we began adding DMG Mori machines, some of which replaced older machines, while most added capability with 5-axis technology. We have continued adding new machines yearly since that time. In 2024 and 2025, we acquired over 30 acres of property surrounding the Machining Facility to provide more room for future growth. Additionally, in 2025, we contracted with an Architect to begin designing an addition to the Machining Facility, upgrading the building and providing more office space, as well as a large conference area for customer meetings or employee training.

Our Future

To broaden our business base, Lektron, Inc. is actively pursuing the military and aerospace markets.  Our growth continues in these markets with the addition of hydraulic and fluid cooling products. We continually advance our equipment and expand our capabilities. We foresee continued expansion of our product line while maintaining the level of quality and on-time delivery that our customers have come to expect.
